It’s not too late to launch your subscription box this year.
Q4 can be a great time to launch. People are already spending money on themselves and buying gifts for others. They understand deadlines, order-by dates, and limited-time offers because those things are already part of this season.
You don’t have to create that urgency. It’s already there.
Launching later in the year can work. I’ve had a member launch in December with the plan for subscribers to receive their first box in early January. She worked with the calendar instead of letting the calendar stop her.
The thing holding most people back isn’t really the calendar. It’s that they don’t feel ready.
You Don’t Have to Feel Ready to Launch
You might be telling yourself you need a bigger audience first. Or a better website, professional packaging, a more polished brand.
But none of those things are requirements for launching your first subscription box.
The first version of your subscription box does not need to be the forever version. You’ll learn and make changes every time you launch.
But you have to start.
A Real Timeline to Launch Your Subscription Box This Year
Week 1: Get Clear on Your Box
This is your decision-making week.
You need:
- One clear box concept
- One price point
- One specific audience you can describe in a sentence
If you’re going through Subscription Box Week, this is exactly what we’re working on together.
Week 2: Start Talking About Your Box
Don’t wait until every piece of your offer is finished before you start talking about it. Create a simple content plan and start posting consistently.
You can talk about:
- Why you’re creating this box
- Your personal story
- Behind-the-scenes pieces of the process
- Products you’re considering or planning to include
- The waitlist that’s coming soon
You don’t need a complicated content strategy. You need to start showing up and letting people know what you’re working on.
Week 3: Build the Tech and Your Waitlist
If you don’t have a website yet, Shopify is one option. You’ll also need an email CRM, such as Klaviyo or the email platform you already use.
Once those pieces are in place, it’s time to build your waitlist page.
There are 5 elements of a waitlist page I want you to think about.
- A headline that gets their attention
- A strong image
- Your signup form
- Social proof
- A gallery(if you have one)
Week 4 and Beyond: Drive People to Your Waitlist
Once your waitlist is ready, you need to tell people about it. Keep creating content, keep showing up, and start actively sending people to your waitlist.
Send your waitlist a weekly email. Keep nurturing them and building that relationship before you ask them to buy.
You’re building momentum before your launch instead of starting cold when launch day arrives.
What Do You Really Need to Launch?
You need:
- One clear offer
- One waitlist or sales page
- One email CRM connected to that page
- Three to five pieces of content
That’s it.
Your goal is to launch, not to create a flawless first version.
Why Subscription Box Week Is Your Moment
One of the hardest parts of launching something on your own is that it’s easy to keep moving the date. Next week becomes next month. Next month becomes next year.
Subscription Box Week gives you a real date on the calendar.
You’ll also be doing this alongside a community of other sellers who are sharing that energy and momentum with you.
Instead of your subscription box being something you’re going to launch “someday,” there’s a specific week when you’re going to make it real.
If you’ve been thinking you missed your chance to launch this year, you haven’t. You have time. You have a plan. And you do not have to wait until you feel completely ready.
Don’t put it off until next year.
