About Us

WHERE DID IT ALL START?

I saw a need for cute, affordable frames for all of the paintings I was teaching at the studio and it took off from there!  I suddenly became a go-to for friends who needed help with décor and other Pinterest-inspired projects. I opened a small 600 square  foot storefront on Kemp Street in March of 2015, selling those cute frames, door hangers, monograms and anything else I could put a price sticker on!  I was also asked to participate in a few local craft shows and gift markets and was overwhelmed with the LOVE I received from my Framed! customers.

I still enjoyed teaching workshops but I didn’t have a studio anymore. At this point, I would travel to any location and teach classes. Churches, bars, homes, schools – you name it, I taught there! To meet this demand, I started looking for a location that would give me space to create, teach and sell items I’ve designed as well as other lines I had found during trips to Dallas Market. I wanted to be your one-stop personalized gift store!

During my search, I reached out to other small business owners in my circle with the idea of opening the Loft Marketplace. The Loft was born in 2016 and was a perfect collective because it brought small business owners together to provide a well-rounded selection of gifts to our local market and most importantly, because it was the perfect home for Framed! at that time.  I could create, teach and be face to face with my customers all in one place!

By 2019, my subscribers had grown into the thousands. My studio turned into a fulfillment center. We packed and shipped boxes all over the country from that little studio.  Then 2020 hit us all like a ton of bricks. The uncertainty, the unknowns, the worry. When the Loft Marketplace was shut down for 45 days, I reevaluated everything. My business, my life, my family, and who I was. You see, my customers didn’t stop shopping with me while my shop was closed. My customers showed me I didn’t need to fill this big building up with inventory just so it would look pretty. I didn’t need to work six days a week to keep the doors open.  I could manage my inventory levels, my work schedule, and be so much more efficient… if I went online.  But that meant letting go of that big, beautiful building.

It’s hard to make these decisions. I loved that store. I loved the connections I made with people at that store. I loved the business that I built in that building. But it was time for a new season. A new season of life and a new season of business.  At the end of 2020, we moved into our new warehouse. It gave us the space we needed so badly. The backroom in the old store didn’t have enough space to house the inventory for our online shop.   We didn’t have enough room to pack subscription boxes. The lack of space made us inefficient and we felt defeated each month.

Sometimes we have to let something go in order to open space for something new. The dreams I have now are not the dreams I had then. Dreams change over time. Helping women feel inspired and good about themselves. Whether we did that with painting parties or t-shirts, monogrammed subscription boxes or the perfect gift for themselves, we helped women. We continue to help women.  I also get to show up every day and help thousands of women build their own businesses. Something I never saw on my path, but something I love.

This little dream I had has turned into so much more.  I’m thankful for the love and support of my friends and family, who sometimes believed in me more than I believed in myself. I am so grateful I get to come to work every day and do what I LOVE and it’s all because of my wonderful Framed! customers here in Wichita Falls and around the world.  Feel free to shop, be inspired and show me some Framed! love!
